Hello everyone and happy fall, wait we're sure we didn't just get tossed right into Winter right!? Well while you ponder that you can give a listen to Bob in a video he was recently kind of enough to share with me. I wanted to share it with you all that may not be in on my social media outlets (seriously, what are you waiting for? I don't bit). In either case enjoy, hopefully he gives someone some inspiration.

Everyone say hi to Bob (hi Bob!). Bob has been with me since the inception of the company and beyond. He always works hard and is always trying to up his training game. It's been so much fun to watch him gain more and more ability, and confidence, in his training. Most notably; his somewhat recently found ability to crush pushups like a champ now.

All that withstanding, he's a great person and truly a joy to have at CORE each and every week. Bob recently completed his 30th program at my asking, here's what he had to say about his journey in that time. Also, let's give him a hand, it takes a lot to stick with anything for this long, and we all know fitness can be one of the hardest things to do as such.

Hello all and a very happy Friday to everyone, hopefully everyone made it through the week without freezing to the bench at their local train stop this week. Seriously there was pretty much no fall, we're nearly on the verge of winter here. OK enough small talk, I've got some great pieces for you all to read with your "spare" time at work.

Before we get to that, of course we have our random or not so much, Insta post of the week.

OK, time to come clean⁣! ⁣ Some of you may remember the photo on the left from part of a post a few months back. I posted it along with 3 other books I was reading or had read. Well, I was reading Conscious Coaching…key word being was. This will come to no surprise to some, I dislike and/or am terrible when it comes to reading. I was bad about it when I was younger and I’m paying for it now. Suffice to say that unless a book REALLY truly grabs ahold of me, I’m going to have a hard time getting through it in any sort of timely fashion.⁣ ⁣ Now, that does not mean I refuse to absorb the information, hence, the ace in the hole, audio books. My method of madness is @audible_books, but there’s many others. I drive a metric ton between commuting to work, rugby practice and games, so that’s a lot of time on my hands, and I’m not always in the mood for my podcasts (some pleasure, some education). I realize that listening might not always be the best way to make the information stick, reading often is, but when I’ve really enjoyed a book, I have no qualms about going back and listening to it again. Also, if it’s a book I’m going to want to be able to reference later, what’s stopping me from getting the paperback, or hardcover of such a book? Well, other than the boss aka the Mrs. aka my wife, nothing, just ask her. Seriously the question “how many books did you order?” has been asked a few times in our house.⁣ ⁣ Just because I don’t learn the same ways as most doesn’t mean I can’t learn as well as most. □ Always be learning, always in beta, right @andersonstrengthfitness ?⁣ ⁣ #foreverlearning #consciouscoaching #audible #audiobookshavefeelingstoo #boston #brookline #firstxv #firstxvperformance

50 Things I've Learned This Year- For some easy lessons and easy reading, turn to Bryan Krahn and this post. I mean the dude's built like a house and has loads of experience in lifting. Surely 1 of these 50 things will hit home with you. Prepare for a few laughs as well, never a bad thing. (bulldog pictures!)

How to Help Your Squat Catch Up with You Deadlift- As someone that has a less than stellar squat depth and therefor has issues with loading up the squat in general this one spoke to me. Greg Knuckols might not be everyone's cup of tea to read from, I mean who actually listens to science now any way? I forgot where I was going with this, but instead of listening to my ADD kick in, just go read his post.

Why Therapy Can Be Beneficial for Everyone- To toss some beans out there, I have recently considered talking to someone (stress is a real bastard kids), so when I saw Dr. Lisa Lewis had written this post, of course I dove head first into it. If you're wondering about therapy for ANY reason, read this post, maybe it'll give you that final nudge to seek out someone. I might be biased, but Lisa is a super awesome person and I really hope her post helps many of those out there that are seeking it.

Well it's been awhile since I did one of these, so now's as good a time as ever to pick it back up. Dreary day up here in the Boston area, so why not make sure everyone knows where to find some good content to occupy themselves with at their cubicles or on their commute.

First as I like to do, a Instagram post for you all to enjoy that may not have already seen it:

Why Not Every Fit Pro Should Write- Straight from the mind of the brilliant Erica Suter, this a good piece of evidence of why it's ok for coaches to not write much, if at all. Guess that gives me a pass huh? Seriously though, when I get into a piece I enjoy it and I don't put the pressure I use to put on myself to get someone new up on this blog every day, it's done a world of good for my sanity.

Getting Stronger is Corrective- When I took the first gig not all that long ago, I too fell into the black hole of "corrective" exercises. Thankfully I had folks like this guy, Tony Gentilcore, and a handful of other straighten me out. Don't burn so much daylight trying to "fix" your issues, just get yourself stronger!

Why Women Should Get Strong- Yes ladies, we all know that you are plenty strong in many ways, but just to be clear, make sure you're as physically strong as you are in the other ways. I love Nia Shanks as a coach and a writer, if you don't want to listen to me, she's definitely someone that can convince you.
